About Me
In 2018, I made a decision to start shifting priorities and made myself my first priority. I started focusing on my overall wellness that included physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional. I committed to exercising, found an unknown love in dance fitness, committed to a healthier diet and lost almost 50 pounds.
Two years later, a pandemic hit. In March 2020, the gyms were closed and everyone across the country was required to stay home and start social distancing. I refused to let this get in the way of my fitness goals so I created a virtual online group called Quarantine Fitness Fun. This group was created as a virtual group for a small group of friends to get together and watch virtual videos together and workout. The group was a complete blast and grew very quickly. By June 2020, the group had over 2000 followers sharing their fitness goals, sharing their quarantine workout videos at home, and receiving love and support from other members of the group to stay encouraged throughout the process.
It was at this point that I began to tap into my passion for dance fitness. During the quarantine period, virtual conferences were becoming extremely popular and a friend knew my love for fitness and asked me to teach a virtual dance fitness class for a group conference she was hosting. I proceeded with the invitation and tapped into a newfound love! There's something about sitting in the stillness that forces you to dig deep for an outward expression. I became a licensed MIXXEDFIT instructor within the next 30 days! After becoming license, I proceeded to start hosting outdoor classes and contributed all of the donations for my first series of classes to single mothers with a young child under the age of 13 and committed to matching the donations by 100%!
Dance fitness is love, life, and community!!! I can't wait to see what's next!
