3/31/2021 1 Comment Treasure in the TrashFor my 16th birthday, my parents bought me a beautiful set of pearls that I treasure to this day. It is a beautiful white necklace with small pearl white earrings. I wear the earrings almost every day particularly on the days I teach fitness classes as I consider them to be my good luck charm when I’m teaching. Last week after teaching my Saturday class, I showered and changed clothes to put on more “fashionable” jewelry as I was headed to lunch with friends and running a few errands. I removed my pearls and put them in a small plastic bag and put them on the side of my gym bag to make sure I would not lose them. Later in the day after getting home, I unpacked my gym bag and, in a rush, to get myself organized I did not realize that small plastic bag had my pearl earrings in it. I threw the bag away! The next day, I was looking all over the house for my earrings. I knew I had them and put them in my gym bag and could not find them anywhere. Then it hit me, OMGGGG…..I think I threw them away! I rushed upstairs to pull out my cleaning gloves and started pulling everything out of my kitchen trash bag hoping and praying that my earrings were in there. A few minutes in, there was the small plastic bag and there were my pearl earrings! I was so relieved!!!!! I just stood there for a minute, in thankfulness and gratitude that I found them. So why am I sharing this? Well…. There was a message very clear from God in that moment of silence as I stood over the trash can relieved. That message was…. Sometimes we have to dig in own mess to find the treasure that we threw away! We move so fast in life sometimes that we do not realize that we have thrown away valuable treasures. Sometimes we have to clean up our own mess! That requires digging DEEP in the trash can to reclaim those treasures! The good news is the treasure is still there! Is there something that you need to clean up and reclaim?

8/21/2020 0 Comments It's Just Like Riding a Bike! When you ask God for clarity and seek answers with a heartfelt earnest prayer, my goodness God will give you the answers. God has a way of speaking to me through my child. I was trying to teach him how to ride his bike and the lesson ended up being for me more so than it was for him.
He was all geared up… dressed the part and ready to go! He was highly motivated before we got started. So excited to go outside and ride his back that we could barely get out the door. There was one problem… he had not mastered the skill of how to push the bike with his feet by himself yet. I assisted him to push for a few minutes so that he could get the feel of what his feet were supposed to do in going forward to get the bike to move. After I assisted him by pushing the bike, I stopped and told to give it a try all by himself. He could not get the bike to move forward. He stood up and gave it a try, but it would not move. I would see his little feet trying to get it to move but it just would not go. I could see how frustrated he was getting because in his mind he knew that the bike was created to move but he just could not make it move. I let him keep pushing as I kept saying “move your feet forward and around, forward and around Jace, keep trying” but the bike still would not move. At this point he was trying hard; he would try to get his feet to move but the wheels just would not turn.
The moral of the story is…. Don’t ever give up on yourself! Keep pushing, keep trying, keep speaking life into yourself and it will manifest for you when the time is right! And even if that specific task doesn’t, you will be stronger than you’ve ever been before and most likely will manifest something bigger and better than you ever dreamed would be possible for yourself! So….. keep going, keep pushing! It’s just like riding a bike! 8/21/2020 3 Comments Let Go of the Penny! It amazes me the revelations that can be received through children. It often comes at the most unexpected times! My four-year-old son and I were driving to school as we usually do every morning. He had a penny in his hand that seemed to keep his attention for most of the drive until he dropped it. He dropped the penny in his car seat and could not seem to find where it was. He began to cry out of frustration and disappointment at the thought of losing something of value to him. I could see him moving his little hands trying to feel around the seat of the car and in his car seat trying to find the penny. He never did find it.
We finally got to school, and he was still in a strong sense of frustration because he lost something valuable to him. As I was getting him out of the car, I looked down on the floor of the car and saw a shiny quarter. Immediately, I got the revelation. So often we respond in frustration, anger, disappointment, uncertainty, lack of understanding due to the loss of something that was valuable to us. All the while, something bigger, better and of greater value is right there in front of us! Is the penny still valuable, ABSOLUTELY! But the quarter holds a value that is 25 times greater than the penny. The beauty of it is, that quarter is readily available to us. If we stop looking for the penny, release the resistance of it, we can see that quarter was there the entire time. Too often we cannot see the quarter because we are still holding on to the remnants of the penny. So… the next time you experience a loss of anything from a relationship, a job, opportunity, or when things don’t go as you planned or how you were expecting it to go, release it!! Trust the process and KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that there is a shiny quarter waiting for you and is available to you once you let go of that penny! |
